What is the best antivirus software out there? Please answer.?

It's a very selective question, it boils down to 'How much are you willing to pay?' and 'What sort of environment?'
For free personal use, I'd recommend AVG, it does the job but don't expect miracles, you get what you pay for.
For around a ￡20 p/a subscription you can purchase Kaspersky. It's not the most user friendly software on the market, but it does the job and has some pretty decent features.
If you're going to pay more than ￡20 P/A for either personal or corporate environment, I recommend Sophos. Most people tend to sway towards Symantec (Norton) but I have to stick my foot in and say that it's all visual with no function. It can be very resource heavy and just be too much for fequent use.
However, its personal opinion and experience. I look after a corporate network of over 200 machines and we rely heavily on Sophos - I've never had any trouble with it. The downside is that for a personal licence, it may be costly!

I like http://www.kaspersky.com/ has done me good, even when others (Norton, McAffee, AVG, & other free ones) have let me down.
I would suggest Nod32..Its the best one i've used so far..i used to have kaspersky latest version in my pc but one day i got attached by a virus called "zpharoah.exe" and guess what..kaspersky couldnt remove it..but when i tried nod32 bingo..it worked and since then my pc is virus free thaks to nod32 :)

It is quite possibly the best. It updates itself several times per day, automatically quarantines dangerous files and does not slow down your PC noticeably (even with low system specs).

I have been using NortonInternet security since 2003 and have had any problems. It finds and removes anything that is a security threat to my computer. It even removes tracking cookies.
The best place to buy it is on ebay.com where you will only pay a fraction of what Semantec wants for it. Any valic license key will eneble you to download the latest version of their software free of charge. I have the 2010 version on my computer, buy my license key came from the 2006 version.
i'm using Avast! Free Antivirus 5.0. The new version has been released on their website. It s a freeware. You can register yourself on the avast website to recive the registration key . They provide timely updates (small in size, ie. In kb's. Which s usefull for people with limited internet plans ). It s fully legal n it generates a virus recovery database to report avast about the new viruses .
To detect n delete malwares on your comp use malware bytes . Another free software . N a powerfull tool to clean your comp of malwares. I use these softwares myself .
