Question
Whats the best USPS shipping box to use for 17 inch monitor?
i have a 17 inch Dell e171fpb monitor that im selling on ebay. However, I am unsure of the dimensions on the shipping since I dont know what kind of box im going to use. The only boxes that show up on the webpage of USPS are flatrate boxes, which are nowhere big enough the fit the 17x 17x4 or so monitor.
Can anyone offer some insight?
Answer
You will need to buy new boxes. The monitor needs to be double boxed with at least 2 inches of packing material between each layer. So you need one box where the length, width and height are each at least 2 inches greater than the length, width and height of the monitor. Then you need a second box where the length, width and height are each at least 2 inches greater than the length, width and height of the first box. Use Styrofoam peanuts for the packing material and make sure each box is overflowing with peanuts before sealing.
