Question
Graphics Card (Radeon 5770) and Power Supply compatible?
Power Supply http://www.firingsquad.com/hw/6741/Dynapower_ADW-50063_500W_PSU/
Video Card http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5316156&Sku=P450-5770
I know my PSU doesn't have the proper adapter since it's four pins and the card needs 6 pins.
Can't I use this to get pass this problem? http://www.circotech.com/pci-express-4-pin-to-6-pin-convertor.html

This power supply powers the 9600GT just fine and I was wondering if; with the proper cables (4pin to 6 pin), if I can use this PSU with that card. Please read the specifications for each carefully, I must know if it will work or not. I really would not like to buy a new PSU since money is a problem. Also a bonus question =P. Is it worth upgrading from the Geforce 9600GT to the Radeon 5770?
Answer
how for heaven's sake did you power your 9600GT? this card also has a 6pin pci-e power connector.
however, the XFX HD 5770 already comes with that 4pin molex to 6pin pci-e adapter so there is no need to get an extra one (at least from Newegg)

this is precisely the same graphics card (shipping is free)
yes, you can still use your psu provided you have such an adapter and btw, the power consumption of the HD 5770 is only marginally higher than that of the 9600GT.
as i don't know what other parts are in your computer i can't tell if this upgrade make sense. in case you have an old Intel Celeron or an old AMD Athlon 64 processor this upgrade makes little sense. but if you have a newer dual or quad core processor it makes sense as the HD 5770 is about 3 times as fast as the 9600GT.
