Question
"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"? Please help...?
I have had a Radeon HD 4980x2 video card for a little over a year now, and am already experiencing problems with it. Basically I've been playing Borderlands and the game crashes and I get all these weird shapes and graphical issues all over the screen, and then if I'm able to get the computer back to the way it was, I see this little message at the bottom right cornor of the screen saying: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" with it mentioning "Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered". Like I said, I only bought this card a little over a year ago and its already takin a dump on me. Its especially disappointing given the fact that I bought it when it first came out, and paid close to 600 bucks for it, and now its screwin up, what a waste. If anyone can shed a little light on this issue, I am all ears. I tried to explain this to AMD support, and they send me an email tellin me to try a bunch of stuff which I had already done to see if it will fix it. Needless to say, nothing they told me in that e-mail worked, and now they won't get back to me. If anyone can please help me, I would very much appreciate it, thank you.
Answer
ck the case air flow and the cooling fan on the video card sounds like overheating trouble I had to replace the fan on my ATI not too long ago.
